Almost in the clear...

Cater had his 4 week post-op appointment yesterday and all is good. Dr. Birken was pleased to see how well Carter is doing and said he was healing nicely. The swelling in Carter's tongue is almost completely gone so we will be starting solids as soon as we get the green light from Dr. Villar. Dr. Birken said that he is still researching as to why this happened but he has come across 2 known cases in the United States and 5 cases in the world with Carter's condition. So I guess that makes us #6! Still no reasoning as to why but who cares about the academics when Carter is a healthy boy! We will go back in another 6 weeks to make sure he's still on track and we might not have to do an MRI if everything looks and feels the same. Carter is amazing in every way. He's developing in the 95 percentile and already has his two bottom teeth in. He changes over night, its crazy!
